Doctors, Clinics and Pharmacies on the North Shore in North Vancouver BC

Finding health care in North Vancouver often means matching the concern to the right door. A prescription refill, a new rash, a travel vaccine question, a youth counselling need and a same day injury do not all belong in the same place. Knowing the categories helps you save time and keeps urgent services available for people who need them most.

For ongoing primary care, medical clinics are the place to ask about attachment, appointments, records and follow up. Capilano Medical Clinic, MedView and WELL Health are examples of local medical clinic names residents may encounter. When booking, ask whether the clinic is accepting new patients, whether visits are in person or virtual and how results are communicated after lab work or imaging.

For urgent but non life threatening concerns, the North Vancouver Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC) is an urgent and primary care centre category. UPCCs in British Columbia are intended for same day issues that need attention but are not hospital emergencies, such as some infections, minor injuries or urgent medication concerns. If symptoms are severe, worsening quickly or involve chest pain, stroke signs or major trauma, call emergency services or go to an emergency department.

Some local services are focused on age, prevention or a specific health need. Foundry North Shore is a youth health and wellness service category, which may be relevant for young people and families looking for integrated support. Passport Health North Vancouver Travel Clinic is a travel clinic category, useful when a trip requires vaccine planning, destination advice or documentation questions well before departure. Bring your itinerary, vaccine records and medication list if you have them.

Skin and cosmetic medical services should be approached with the same care as any other health decision. Dermapure, Nuevo Medical & Skin Lab and Art of Lines MD by Dr. Naz are examples of medical aesthetic or skin clinic categories. Ask who performs the procedure, what training they have, what risks and recovery look like, and what happens if you have a complication. If a concern may be medical rather than cosmetic, ask whether a primary care assessment is more appropriate first.

Pharmacies are often the most accessible health care stop. Anderson's Pharmacy, Pure Integrative Pharmacy, Lonsdale Pharmacy, Northmount Pharmacy and Peoples Pharmacy are local pharmacy names to include in a search. Pharmacists in British Columbia can help with medication reviews, many vaccine services, prescription questions and some minor ailments within provincial rules. Call ahead if you need a specific vaccine, blister packaging or a hard to find medication.

Before any appointment, bring a practical checklist: your CareCard or BC Services Card, current medications, allergies, recent test results, symptom timeline and the question you most need answered. For children or older relatives, write down who can receive information and who helps manage medications. Clear notes reduce missed details when the visit is short. If you use more than one pharmacy or clinic, bring the full list so each provider sees the same information.

North Vancouver has medical clinics, a UPCC, youth services, travel medicine, pharmacies and specialized clinics. Choosing the right category first will make the system easier to navigate. Start with Capilano Medical Clinic, MedView or WELL Health for primary care questions, the UPCC for appropriate same day concerns, Foundry North Shore for youth focused support and a local pharmacy for medication questions.
