Between the City and the District, North Vancouver's Halloween season has two genuinely different anchors: a downtown trick-or-treat with dozens of participating businesses, and a suspension-bridge park that's already confirmed its dates for this year.

Shipyards District Trick-or-Treat
The City of North Vancouver's Shipyards trick-or-treat is a genuine City-business partnership, with more than 60 participating shops historically running from roughly 3:30 to 5:30pm on Halloween. It's a good option for younger kids who want a compact, well-lit route with a lot of stops close together.
Canyon Frights at Capilano Suspension Bridge
Capilano Suspension Bridge Park's Canyon Frights is confirmed for October 9 through November 1, 2026, included with regular park admission - one of the few attractions on this list with dates already locked in for this year rather than "check back closer to the date."
Loutet Farm's fall harvest
Loutet Farm, the City's community urban farm run with the Edible Garden Project, typically has fall harvest activities including a pumpkin weigh-off - smaller in scale, but a nice option if the bigger events aren't your speed.
Fireworks rules and safety
The City of North Vancouver bans fireworks entirely. The District requires a $10 permit and restricts fireworks to Halloween night between 6 and 10pm - so the rules genuinely differ depending on which municipality you're in, which is worth knowing before anyone in the household plans to set anything off. The District doesn't run its own dedicated trick-or-treat event; most District families head to the Shipyards or the Capilano Bridge for the organized side of the evening.
