Pacific Batteries started as a mobile battery service in 2010 and now runs shops in Maple Ridge and Surrey selling new and reconditioned car, truck, and marine batteries. Every reconditioned unit has to pass a visual, hydrometer, and cranking test before it goes on the shelf.
Pacific Batteries started as a mobile service in 2010, opened the first shop in Maple Ridge in 2016, and added a second location in Surrey in 2020 to keep up with demand across the Lower Mainland. The shops stock new batteries for cars, trucks, and marine applications along with a separate line of reconditioned units that have to clear three tests before they go on the shelf: a visual condition check for cracks, leaks, or bulging, a hydrometer test that confirms the cell chemistry is still healthy, and a cranking performance test that proves the battery will actually start a vehicle in cold weather. A battery that fails any of the three does not get the Pacific Batteries warranty sticker and does not get sold to a customer who is counting on it to start a truck in the morning.
Free battery testing is available at either location with no appointment needed, which matters when a vehicle will not start on a cold morning and the owner wants to know whether the problem is the battery, the alternator, or a parasitic draw somewhere in the electrical system draining it overnight. Recondition charging is offered for a fee between ten and thirty dollars per battery depending on size, with the fee waived if the customer ends up replacing the battery with one from the shop. The shops also buy old lead-acid batteries for cash, including steel-case forklift batteries picked up with dangerous-goods certified trucks, and recycle household alkaline and rechargeable batteries for free. Pacific Batteries serves drivers in Maple Ridge, Surrey, Langley, and the surrounding communities, with North Vancouver and North Shore customers making the trip east for the reconditioned inventory and the testing service that comes with it.
Customers bring in batteries from cars, trucks, motorcycles, ATVs, boats, RVs, and the deep-cycle setups used in off-grid cabins, with staff who know which battery group size fits each application rather than guessing from a spec sheet. Friendly technicians explain what the testing actually shows.
