Third Generation Painters runs a Vernon-based residential crew out of founder Brook Nullmeyer's cabinet shop, handling interior repaints, exterior work, cabinet refinishing, and wood restoration across the North Okanagan. Projects use Benjamin Moore products chosen for the dry, sunny climate.
Brook Nullmeyer started Third Generation Painters in 2020 and built the company on three generations of craft knowledge passed down from a grandfather's cabinet shop in Ontario cottage country that opened back in 1977. The Vernon-based crew handles interior repaints, full exterior work, cabinet refinishing, wood restoration, and stain work on decks, cedar siding, and accent beams, with the kind of meticulous prep that makes a paint job actually last through Okanagan summers rather than peeling after one bad freeze-thaw cycle. Every project uses Benjamin Moore products matched to the surface and the conditions, from cabinet coatings that go on with a factory-quality spray finish to exterior paints picked for UV, dry heat, and temperature swings.
Crew members are career painters rather than seasonal labor, which means the same people show up to do the prep work and the final coat rather than handing the job off between subcontractors who have never seen the house. Brook handles the estimates, the billing, and the communication himself, so homeowners deal with one point of contact from the first quote to the final walkthrough and never have to chase a contractor for an update on the schedule. The company specializes in Hardie board and stucco exteriors that need specific primers, full kitchen cabinet refinishing as an alternative to replacement when the boxes are still solid, and the wood restoration work that strips, sands, and repairs weathered decks and cedar siding before they need to be torn off entirely. Recent projects get posted online with Benjamin Moore color picks so prospective clients can see the actual results from homes across Vernon, Coldstream, SilverStar, and Okanagan Landing. Third Generation Painters is based in Vernon, serves the greater North Okanagan, and takes on selected projects on the North Shore and across the Lower Mainland for clients willing to bring the crew in for larger scope work.
Based outside North Vancouver and serves it as part of a wider area, so this is a call-out service rather than somewhere to visit.
